Tomares is located northwest of Seville, only 4 kilometres away from the capital. The village forms part of the Aljarafe region. There have been found archaeological remains of the Bronze age, and from there on, it has been known as a roman villa and a moorish farming community. Several decades after the christian conquer of the area, at the end of the XV century, Tomares appears as such for the first time on the Aljarafe's list of municipalities. Nowadays is one of Seville's residential cities as well as a great provider of services.
