Antonio Banderas's home town, a popular summer holiday resort between Torremolinos and Fuengirola, is divided into three distinct parts: Benalmadena Pueblo, the original and still picturesque Andalusian hill village, Benalmadena Costa, with its pretty marina, beach promenade and lively clubs and bars, and the town centre area of Arroyo de la Miel. Benalmadena is home to Europe's biggest Tibetan Buddhist stupa, 33m high and crowned with a golden cone.
